Three to start with.
The short answer, before the long list.
Foam and drop, mapped.
Right means a firmer ride. Up means more heel. Your fitting tells you which corner is yours.
Neutral, light or full?
It depends on how far your foot rolls in when you run, not on how flat it looks.
| Your stride | Neutral | Light stability | Full stability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your foot barely rolls in. | |||
| It rolls in a little, mostly when you tire. | |||
| It rolls in a lot, from the first stride. | |||
| You want the softest ride. |

Support should feel like nothing.
Too much and you fight the shoe. Too little and you feel it late in long runs. Ten seconds of video finds your level.
Before you choose.
The full story lives in the guide.
Do flat feet need stability shoes?
Not always. What counts is how much your foot rolls in while you run, not its shape standing still.
Are they bad if I don't need them?
Not bad, just more shoe than you need. Light stability is gentle enough for many neutral runners.
Can insoles do the same job?
Sometimes. Insoles change the arch, stability shoes change the platform. Your fitting shows which one matters for you.
How do you measure these shoes?
Drop and stack at the heel, weight for a men’s EU 42.5, support rated from the midsole and frame.
